The plain-English ground rules for using this site.

What this site is
Cremation Guide is a free, independent information resource covering UK cremation choices. It includes a decision tool and a set of written guides. By using this site, you agree to these terms — if you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site, and feel free to email us with why.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical or funeral advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship between you and Cremation Guide. Costs, deadlines and rules are described as accurately as we can manage and are checked against official sources (see our methodology page), but laws and figures change, individual circumstances vary, and you should always confirm anything important with a registered funeral provider, your local registrar, a qualified adviser, or the official government pages we link to.
No liability for decisions made
We've built this site carefully and honestly, but we can't guarantee it's error-free or that it covers every possible situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, Cremation Guide isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. This doesn't affect any right you may have that can't legally be excluded.
The content belongs to us
The written guides, the decision tool, and the way information is presented on this site are the property of Cremation Guide. You're welcome to link to any page, or to quote a short passage with a clear link back to the original page. Please don't copy substantial parts of the site's content for republication elsewhere, or use it to train another product, without asking first.
Links to other websites
Several pages link to official sources — GOV.UK, mygov.scot, nidirect, the FCA register, and others — so you can verify things yourself. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability.
No commercial ties, as things stand
Cremation Guide doesn't currently accept commission from funeral providers or run affiliate links. If that ever changes, this page — and every other relevant page on the site — will be updated to describe it clearly.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
